As we near the start of Hispanic Heritage Month, this is a relevant time to familiarize yourself with one of the library's newest digital resources, Hispanic Life in America, Series 3 (2010-Present).
Hispanic Life in America, Series 3 is part of one of the most comprehensive digital archive of primary source documents related to Hispanic American life. This collection is sourced from thousands of global media outlets, including Spanish-language or bilingual publications, dating from 2010 to today. A handful of Suggested Searches, organized by historical eras, themes, topical areas and events, provide direct links to useful content. Examples of curated Suggested Searches include: “California Missions,” “Mexican War of Independence,” “Diego Rivera,” “West Side Story,” “The Cuban Missile Crisis,” and “Sonia Sotomayor.” Advanced search options are also available for customized research, including a unique Map Search to find content published from a specific geographical location and area.
The resource is updated daily, and it can be accessed in the library or remotely by all faculty, staff and currently enrolled students.
Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated annually from September 15 to October 15.
