Substitute Borrower Privileges

For Faculty

Submit a Faculty Substitute Borrower Request to designate someone to borrow library materials on your behalf. You also have the option to submit a written request at the Information and Research Desk, or email the Information and Research Desk at circdesk@uncc.edu.

Please allow us up to 24 hours to process your request. We’ll contact you when your request has been received and processed. 

Your substitute borrower may be a:

  • Graduate assistant
  • Teaching assistant
  • Research assistant
  • Departmental secretary

For Students with Accessibility Challenges

We provide this service for students with with any accessibility challenges.

Submit a Student Substitute Borrower Request to designate someone to borrow library materials on your behalf. You also have the option to submit a written request at the Information and Research Desk, email the Information and Research Desk at circdesk@uncc.edu, or to request this service through your Disability Services Counselor with ODS.

Please allow us up to 24 hours to process your request. We’ll contact you when your request has been received and processed.

Substitute Borrower Policies

  • Only your designated substitute borrower can borrow items on your behalf
  • Your designated substitute borrower should use their ID card, not yours
  • Borrowed items will appear on your account; you’ll receive the courtesy notifications.
  • You are still responsible for ensuring items are returned on time
  • You are still responsible for any fines or fees related to late, lost, or damaged items
